For the uninitiated, the term “acupuncture” may bring to mind visions of needles and pain. But those who have tried it know there is a lot more to the treatment than pokes and pricks — and usually little to no pain.
The first visit is a longer one. Your first acupuncture session may last longer then follow-up sessions because the acupuncturist needs to know details of your medical history. When making an appointment, ask if you can do initial paperwork ahead of time because often it includes a lengthy health questionnaire. Also, bring a list of medications and dietary supplements you are currently taking.
Follow-up acupuncture sessions are designed to build on the progress made during your initial visit. These sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and involve a personalized approach based on your current symptoms, treatment response, and wellness goals.
Depending on your condition, treatments may be recommended once or twice per week.

That event had changed the course of my life; my curiosity grew over the years alongside my career as a biomedical research scientist. I found myself wondering: why aren’t these ancient methods more widely embraced alongside conventional medicine? I’ve seen how much time, effort, and money go into developing new drugs – often with limited success in achieving true healing. Meanwhile, practices like acupuncture, breathwork, and quieting the mind can bring real, lasting relief. I believe deeply in the power of integrative medicine; the union of modern technologies and science with ancient wisdom should be the future of medicine. I am open to partnerships with medical doctors to support our patients together.
